At LUXUNI we focus on creating exceptional yet functional ultra slim luminaires that are simple and elegant with minimalist designs.
Most LUXUNI luminaires incorporate a LGP (light guide plate) to maximize the uniformity of light and enable the LUXUNI designs to be ultra slim.
Each LGP is constructed from optical grade PMMA acrylic to ensure transmittance of light that is always at peak performance on the laser etched matrix design bottom surface. The light emanating from the L.E.D sources that are installed on the edges of the luminaire distribute light evenly across the acrylic lens face.

CRI is a measure of a light source's ability to show object colors "realistically" or "naturally" compared to a familiar reference source, either incandescent light or natural daylight. It is measured on a scale from 0 to 100. Natural daylight has a CRI of 100 and is what all light sources strive to replicate. CRI is merely an index value that considers 8 color samples. Though not included in the calculation of CRI, the CRI R9 special test color sample index is typically very low in normal LED lightings, reflecting the fact that they render red colors particularly poorly.
Luxuni offer LED lightings with CRI values above 95 and R9 above 90. This means the color accuracy and reproduction of our LED lightings are nearly perfect making them an excellent choice for retail, art galleries, museums, high end homes or anywhere extreme color accuracy is required.
High-energy blue-violet light in the narrow 415-455nm band is particularly damaging to eyes, in particular the lens and retina. The blue band of the light spectrum yields more energy and can pass straight through your eye – resulting in myopia and macular degeneration.Blue light from LED may cause eye damage, strains, headaches, and sleep disorders. Children are more susceptible to eye damage because their crystalline lens is less effective in filtering out blue-light, adding to the risk of age-related macular degeneration.

The distance from the target point in each ellipse is measured in SDCM (Standard Deviation of Colour Matching). An SDCM of 1 step means that there is no colour difference between LED chips, 2-3 SDCM means that there is hardly any visible colour difference. Colour consistency of 6-7 SDCM is accepted by the market and in line with the European EcoDesign – US Energy Star requirements.
As we all know, the best light is always the spots on the BBL (Black Body Locus), Luxuni LED lightings only use the LEDs in the bins most closely to the BBL with colour consistency < 3SDCM. Innovative internal design, optics and excellent heat dissipation ensure that color quality of our product is maintained throughout the rated lifetime which is more than 90% of their initial light output for more than 60,000 hours of operation (L90 > 60,000hours).
